Volunteer Opportunities
The Winchester Figure Skating Club is completely volunteer-run and relies on the efforts of its members to fulfill its mission. With the Full and Non-Representing memberships, there is a 10-hour volunteer requirement and with the Introductory membership, there is a 5-hour volunteer requirement. It is the responsibility of the club member to seek and arrange volunteer hours.
Please see the attached Volunteer Policy for details, including the Ice Monitor Incentive program.
Below are some ways to volunteer. Please email [email protected] when you have decided how to fulfill the hours.
Typical volunteer opportunities include:
- Supervise skaters rink-side during sessions.
- Play music.
- Ability to commit to a scheduled time at the rink is necessary.
- Collect music tapes and CDs, distribute info packets, direct people to locker rooms, etc.
- Maintain notice board.
- Make copies for Test Chair.
- Play skaters’ CDs as well as standard dance CDs during test sessions.
- Serve as runners (deliver results, deliver music to/from the sound table, etc).
- We are open to new fundraising ideas!
- Act as reporters/photographers (Write articles, cover events, take photographs)
- Publicize club membership and activities (posters, info sheets, web submissions)
- Liaison with BHSA and/or other Basic Skills programs for new members.
